Our office is open Monday thru Friday 8:30am-5:30pm. Please contact us at 770-209-9826, Ext. 101 to schedule an appointment for your child.

Helpful steps to follow

First Steps:

  1. If you suspect that your child may need therapy services, you need to contact your primary care pediatrician for an original prescription. They can either send it to us directly: 6075 Atlantic Blvd., Norcross GA 30071 or give it to you to present at your first visit.
  2. After obtaining a prescription, please call our main office at 770-209-9826, Ext. 101.
  3. You will be asked to answer some basic questions over the phone about your child's diagnosis, previous treatment, insurance, and primary doctor. An appointment will then be scheduled for an evaluation.
  4. The evaluation will take approximately 60 to 90 minutes to complete. Your therapist may ask you many questions regarding your child's medical history, development, and previous programs your child has participated in. The therapist will evaluate your child's skill level both through standardized testing and play. Often the first visit is spent building trust and allowing the child to feel comfortable with the therapist and the new environment.
  5. The therapist will discuss the preliminary findings and give recommendations after the evaluation is completed. You will also receive a typed copy of this evaluation in the mail, as will the referring physician.

After Evaluation:

  1. You will be given recommendations regarding the need for therapy and the recommended frequency. In addition, specific recommendations for home and clinic therapeutic activities will be given. A determination will be made whether individual therapy maybe most beneficial.
  2. If regular therapy services are recommended, every attempt will be made to identify a mutually agreeable time for the appointments. The more flexible your times are, the easier it will be to schedule an appointment. In the event that there is not a currently available time, there may be a waiting list. Appointments may vary in frequency, length and intensity based on what the child, the family and the therapist feel is appropriate, but every attempt is made to keep the appointment time consistent.
  3. The treating therapist will set goals to help your child achieve and help educate both the child and family members about your child's condition, treatment options, home activities, and outside resources. Your opinion is important in developing goals and a treatment plan. Please feel free to discuss your primary goals with us.
  4. Progress towards the goals is continually monitored during the treatment sessions and additional suggestions may be given to you as the therapist gets to know your child better. Every six months, the goals are reviewed and progress towards them is evaluated formally. Modifications of the intervention plan may be made at that time or sooner if progress warrants it. The results are shared with the parents, the primary physician, and any other professionals requested.
