When Weekly Therapy Isn't Enough
The PediaSpeech Intensive Family Program is a structured, outcome-driven approach that combines individualized, intensive therapy with live family training, so your child makes real progress and you know exactly how to continue at home.
Serving families in Atlanta, Decatur, and the greater Georgia area.
Program introduction
If your child has been in weekly speech therapy for months — or years — without the progress you were hoping for, you are not alone. Many families come to us after working hard with other providers and feeling stuck. The missing piece is almost never the therapy itself. It's the intensity, the frequency, and whether the family has been equipped to carry on the work beyond the therapy room.
The PediaSpeech Intensive Family Program was designed to solve exactly that. This is not traditional therapy where your child attends sessions and comes home with a handout. This is a structured program that begins with an individualized intensive therapy launch, trains you as a family in real time, and then supports you with priority scheduling, ongoing coaching, and a personalized home program that evolves as your child progresses.
We specialize in pediatric motor speech disorders including Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), pediatric feeding disorders, and complex communication disorders. Our approach is grounded in evidence-based frameworks, and every program is built around your child's specific needs, not merely a one-size-fits-all schedule.
How it Works
The Intensive Family Program moves throughout three connected phases. Each phase builds on the last, and our team supports you throughout.
Phase 1: Intensive Launch
Your program begins with an individualized intensive therapy period — a personalized schedule designed around your child's specific diagnosis, goals, and learning style. Alongside the Intensive Launch, your family participates in twice-weekly synchronous video coaching sessions where you review footage from your child's sessions and learn the exact cueing strategies being used.
At the end of the Intensive Launch, you receive a written home program and cueing guide built specifically for your child, not a generic handout but rather a personalized tool your family can use every day.
Phase 2: Active Coaching
Following the intensive period, your child transitions to weekly therapy sessions with guaranteed priority scheduling — your standing appointment is held for you with no waitlist. Bi-weekly family coaching calls keep you on track, help you troubleshoot what you're seeing at home, and give you a direct line to your clinical team as your child's skills develop.
Phase 3: Maintenance and Independence
As your child's skills consolidate, we intentionally taper the coaching support. Monthly check-in calls replace biweekly calls, and your home program evolves to reflect your child's progress. Our goal is to build your confidence as a family so that you need us less over time, not more! That's what real progress looks like.
Who the Intensive Family Program is For
The Intensive Family Program is designed for families who are ready to make a committed, structured investment in their child's communication development. It is particularly well-suited for children with:
- Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) - Research consistently shows that intensive, high-frequency
therapy produces the best outcomes for CAS. This program delivers that intensity with the parent
training component that research shows accelerates progress. - Pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders - Our feeding intensive track addresses complex
feeding challenges with the same family-centered, intensive approach. - Motor speech disorders and dysarthria - Children with motor-based speech challenges benefit
significantly from intensive programming and a trained family team. - Language delays with limited progress in weekly therapy - Families who have been in weekly therapy for an extended period without meeting goals often see a significant shift with the intensive launch model.
The program is also an excellent fit for families who are highly motivated to be active participants in their child's therapy, not passive observers. If you want to understand what your child's therapist is doing and why, and you want to be equipped to carry that work into every meal, every car ride, and every moment of your day, this program was built for you.
Why PediaSpeech
PediaSpeech Services is a pediatric speech-language pathology practice located in Decatur, Georgia, serving families throughout the Atlanta metro area. Our clinical team holds advanced training in evidence-based frameworks for motor speech and feeding disorders, including the Kaufman Speech to LanguageProtocol and Bjorem Speech Sound Cues.
We are a small practice by design. Our caseloads are intentionally limited so that every child and every family receives the time, attention, and clinical depth they deserve. The Intensive Family Program reflects our core belief that the fastest path to progress is a well-trained family working in partnership with a highly skilled clinician.
Our Clinical Director, Jennifer McCullough, M.S., CCC-SLP, has over two decades of experience in pediatric speech-language pathology with specialization in childhood apraxia of speech, motor speech disorders, and pediatric feeding. She designed the Intensive Family Program based on both clinical evidence and the reality of what families actually need to see lasting change.
