Our evidence-based approaches to treatment

Every child learns, communicates, and develops differently. That’s why PediaSpeech utilizes a variety of evidence-based treatment programs and therapeutic approaches to support each child’s unique strengths, challenges, and goals. Our therapists are trained in specialized programs designed to address speech and language development, feeding skills, social communication, sensory processing, motor planning, and overall functional growth.

Explore our treatment programs below to learn more about the specialized approaches our therapists use to help children communicate, participate, and thrive.

Feeding Programs

Debra beckman oral-motor protocol

Beckman Oral Motor is an assessment and treatment tool used to determine and treat oral motor delays and disorders.

food chaining

Food chaining is a feeding approach to food therapy that involves a systematic and gradual process of introducing new foods by building upon existing preferred foods.

Get Permission

The Get Permission Approach asks the adult to read the child's cues and move forward only as the child is ready.

Modified Baby-led weaning

Baby-Led Weaning is a global and fast growing approach used for babies to transition to eating real food.

Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS)

The SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) feeding program, developed by Psychologist, Kay Toomey Ph.D, is a non-invasive developmental approach to feeding.

Tethered Oral Tissues (TOSs)/Tongue Ties

Tethered oral tissues (TOTs) are a category of congenital conditions that include tongue ties, lip ties, or even buccal (cheek) ties.

Tongue Thrust/Myofunctional Therapy

Myofunctional tongue thrust therapy provides a tongue and facial muscle strength workout for appropriate oral rest posture.

Speech & Language Programs

Articulation & Phonological Processes

An articulation disorder involves difficulty with the physical, motor process of producing one or more specific sounds correctly

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) refers to any tool or system that supports or replaces spoken communication — from picture-based systems to dedicated speech-generating devices and tablet apps.

Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)

Apraxia of Speech (AOS) is a motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for the brain to plan and coordinate the movements needed for clear speech.

GESTAULT Language

Gestalt language processors often communicate through echolalia — repeating whole phrases, sentences, or scripts they’ve heard before, whether immediately or after a delay.

Orton-Gillingham/Phonological Awareness Programs

Orton-Gillingham is a direct, explicit, and multisensory approach to teaching reading, writing, and spelling.

Tongue Thrust/Myofunctional Therapy

Orofacial myofunctional disorders affect the orofacial muscle complex, including the mouth, tongue, lips, and facial musculature.

Visualizing and Verbalizing

At PediaSpeech, we use Lindamood-Bell’s Talkies and Visualizing and Verbalizing® (V/V) programs to help children develop clear, organized expressive language.

Intensive Family Programs

The PediaSpeech Intensive Family Program is a structured, outcome-driven approach that combines individualized, intensive therapy with live family training, so your child makes real progress and you know exactly how to continue at home.

Apraxia of Speech Intensive program

Our individualized Apraxia intensive program meets your child exactly where they are on the motor speech spectrum and builds a treatment program from there.

Feeding intensive program

Our individualized pediatric feeding therapy intensive combines the SOS Approach to Feeding, the Beckman Oral Motor Protocol, and the Get Permission Approach to address every dimension of your child’s feeding challenges.

OT Programs

Learning Without Tears®

Learning Without Tears helps children build confidence with handwriting, fine motor skills, and early learning concepts in a fun, supportive way. Through hands-on activities and play-based learning, we meet each child where they are and help them develop the skills they need to feel successful both in school and everyday life.

Reflex Integration

Our reflex integration approach helps children strengthen the foundational movement patterns that support attention, coordination, balance, and learning. Through playful activities and targeted exercises, we help children develop the skills they need to feel more comfortable and confident in their bodies.

Sensory Integration

We help children make sense of the sensory information they experience every day. Using fun, child-led activities, we support their ability to process and respond to sensory input, making daily routines, play, learning, and social interactions feel more manageable and enjoyable.

Emotional Regulation

Emotional regulation support helps children better understand their feelings and develop strategies for managing them. We work alongside each child to build self-awareness, coping skills, and confidence so they can navigate challenges and express themselves in healthy ways.

The Alert Program®

The Alert Program helps children learn to recognize and manage their energy levels throughout the day. Using the simple concept of "How Does Your Engine Run?", children discover practical strategies to help them feel calm, focused, and ready for whatever comes next.

Zones of Regulation®

The Zones of Regulation program helps children identify their emotions, understand how they impact behavior, and learn tools for self-regulation. Through engaging activities and discussions, children build the skills needed to navigate their feelings, communicate their needs, and participate more successfully at home, school, and in their community.

Why Families Choose Our Treatment Programs

Our treatment programs are selected based on each child’s individual needs, not a predetermined therapy plan. By combining specialized training, evidence-based practices, and family-centered care, our therapists create personalized treatment experiences that support meaningful progress and lasting success. We work closely with families to ensure therapy goals are practical, achievable, and connected to everyday life.
